What is Tae Kwon Do?

Tae Kwon Do is an ancient martial art of Korean self-defense. The emphasis is on mind-body training and the benefits are far-reaching. Martial arts training is a progressive style, with each skill building on the foundation of ones already learned.

A consistent practice of Tae Kwon Do helps develop strength, balance, flexibility, and coordination simultaneously. Side benefits include weight-loss, enhanced circulation, and increased endurance.

Tae Kwon Do is also a wonderful teaching tool for kids. Martial arts training imparts a sense of responsibility and a higher sense of self-esteem to kids as young as 4! Our school’s patient instructors impart a strong sense of discipline by enforcing rules of good behavior in classes and expecting our students to model the same behavior at home and at school. In addition, our activities help channel kids’ natural energy and aggression into productive outlets.

Finally, and most importantly, our kids learn essential, practical self-defense skills to help keep them safe in a potentially dangerous situations.

Tae Kwon Do is a progressive training experience. As students earn their way up the belt ranks, they learn essential lessons in concentration, respect, awareness, and discipline.
