Local Tae Kown Do students test for black belts


Conshohocken, Pa. — On May 6, Burns Tae Kwon Do of Selinsgrove sent several students to the Fellowship House in Conshohocken, to be tested for varying levels of tae kwon do black belts. The students were tested by a board of master instructors led by Master Fred DeStolfo.

Testing for first degree black belt were Jacob John, 12, Rochette Kahley, 12, Michael Ede, 12, Isaac Kunkel, 13, Ian Garlock, 13, Josh Kahl, 12, Susan Zechman, Ben Oberholtzer, Jesse Minium and Jacob Tomasweski.

Kaitlyn Watto tested for her second degree black belt. Phyllis Marquette tested for her third degree black belt. Todd Hollenbach and Bruce Fisher tested for their fourth degree black belts.

All students passed their tests and earned their new degree black belts.

“I was very impressed by not only their test performance, but the many years of hard work they have put in prior to the test,” says Master Nathan Morgan, owner of Burns Tae Kwon Do.

Burns Tae Kwon Do has been in business for over 25 years. They have seven trained martial arts instructors on staff and currently cater to 180 members ranging in age from 4 to 70.
